Handset Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer with excellent design and implementation skills to join our handset engineering team. Candidates with a strong background and interest in product development are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be highly competent in Java(J2SE) and C or C++, and experienced with standard Unix/Linux development environments and tools.

Qualified candidates should have working knowledge of all of the following areas and demonstrated depth in at least one:

  • server-side java technologies in general and Tomcat in specific
  • TCP/IP networking and distributed systems
  • operating systems

J2ME, BREW, Symbian, PalmOS, or other handset experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Willingness to "get your hands dirty" learning new mobile technologies is absolutely essential.

In addition, we're looking for individuals who:

  • Have a minimum degree of BSc in Computer Science/Engineering, or related discipline. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Have at least two years of professional software development experience or academic equivalent
  • Thrive in a small and driven team
  • Understand the need for solid software engineering processes in a growing company, while still being able to innovate
  • Are highly-motivated and flexible
  • Have a strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work with cutting-edge location-based technology, especially cell phone handsets, emulators, infrastructure equipment and related technologies.
